Only because of American Sign Language, the deaf community is becoming well known for chewing down their leaders. People need to realize that deaf people can be taught to communicate in other ways. People need to realize that ASL is not everything to deaf people these days.

Let's celebrate International Day of the Deaf by recognizing the deaf community's desire to be liberated from the ugly knives of ASL.

It's becoming known that ASL has been used as a weapon, measuring device, and as harassment tools on deaf people especially their leaders in the past decade.

These are the ASL knives on my own back;

Knife #1 GLAD's then-CEO Marcella Meyer stating that we dont need any more deaf centers and her puppet director Ed Kelly of OCDEAF stating that I dont know what GLAD is doing for the deaf people in their article in the LA Times newspaper.

Knives #2, #3, #4 Three times our funding proposals at the Department Of Social Services's (DSS) Office of Deaf Access (ODA) were treated, handled, and disposed of like contraband.

Knife #5 Joey Lucas uses the Deaf California News mailing list to state I'm a one man show and our deaf center is a fraud, a scam, and leads a harassment campaign that causes all of our ASL board members to resign.

Knife #6 Then California Association of the Deaf (CAD) membership director Russell Bye messes up my CAD membership in his effort to prevent me from running for a CAD officer position.

Knife #7 Mark Sullivan sends me letter that I wasn't allowed to participate in CAD conference in Buena Park. My involvement was subsequently labeled as "The Richard Roehm Problem" in CAD internal communications. ( This particular knife seems to be sliding out on it's own or someone is actually pulling it out )

Knife #8 ASL feminists at LACAAW use my then-wife to make our agency's child abuse project and domestic violence program look very bad through a variety of legal actions and numerous cyberbullying tactics.

Knife #9 The highly ASL dependent Sorenson VRS company forces the owner of Deafnewspaper.com to boot my deaf advocacy section out of his website without any warning.

On International Day of the Deaf the society will be judges as to whether American Sign Language remains a language for the deaf or become disposed of as deaf culture knives on people's backs.

Unless the deaf militants, ASL extremists, and the old deaf guards, start growing up for a change, their sacred language is getting on the fast track toward extinction.
