A college education certainly helps, but you don’t need a college education to get a good job. If you have good English skills whether you have a college education or not, and you appreciate the job-getting value of communicating face-to-face with hearing co-workers in English, I will do for you what I did for Carrie (See THE STORY OF CARRIE).

Pending available financial resources, either I or my representative will visit you, train you, and help you get a good job. We’ll contact employers, employment agencies and others, and line up job interviews for you for English-active jobs. We’ll give you communication equipment which you’ll use to communicate in English face-to-face with employers in job interviews. This equipment will be on loan to you for job interviews, and which you will use on the job to communicate face-to-face with hearing co-workers in English when you become employed.

IMPORTANTLY, WE’LL TRAIN YOU TO CONTACT EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES AND OTHERS ON YOUR OWN TO LINE UP YOUR OWN JOB INTERVIEWS. WE WILL HELP YOU TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT WHEN JOB HUNTING. YOU WILL KEEP THE EQUIPMENT. WHEN YOUR EMPLOYER REPLACES IT WITH EQUIPMENT OF HIS OWN. THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL YOU RETURN THE EQUIPMENT TO US.

PRIORITY ATTENTION WILL BE GIVEN TO UNEMPLOYED QUALIFIED DEAF JOB-SEEKERS WHO HAVE SUFFERED PROTRACTED UNEMPLOYMENT.

If for any reason we are unable to visit you, we will provide all information, equipment and instruction to a Job Placement or Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor where you live who will train you and line up job interviews for you with good employers for good jobs using English face-to-face with your co-workers. If you are looking for a job, we won’t let you down. We will get communication equipment into your hands. We will help you become employed.

I PROMISE YOU THAT WE’LL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO HELP YOU GET A BETTER JOB PAYING BETTER MONEY WITH SUPERIOR JOB BENEFITS THAN ANY OF THE JOBS DEAF PEOPLE USUALLY GET. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHERE YOU LIVE, WE WILL GO TO YOU AND DO WHAT WE CAN TO HELP YOU.

ATTENTION SCHOOLS FOR THE DEAF, JOB SERVICE AGENCIES AND GOVERNMENT OFFICES. Arrangements can be made for me or my representative to visit you and train your representatives or Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to help qualified deaf job-seekers get English-active jobs using English face-to-face in the workplace. Pending available equipment on hand at Modern Deaf Communication, we will loan you the communication equipment for this purpose which you can return to us when you replace it with equipment of your own.
